Raven Alexandria Mayes, 35, passed away unexpectedly on the early morning of December 31, 2017 in Indianapolis. She was the daughter of Curtis J. Anderson and Marie A. Nelson
Raven was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School in Gary, IN and had attended Kaplan University. She was currently employed as a server and waitress at Applebee's and JD's Bar.
In addition to her parents, Raven is survived by her children, Monyell Mayes, Tremaine Armour, Breanna Armour, Lynia Armour and Aniyah Oldham; her sister and best friend, Tabora Merrit, her sister, Summer Snow; her grandparents, Rev. Dr. Jesse and Virginia Mayes; two uncles, Orlando Garrett and Michael Johnson; nephews, Maxwell Merrit, Da'Von Snow, Davion Snow, Frederick Snow, Brandon Strange, Mekhi Merrit, Taquan Clark and Fahien Balil; nieces, J'Mareonna Carson, J'Merrah Merrit and Jarika Sullivan as well as a host of other family members.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 8, 2018 at 1:00pm at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center with Pastor Jeff Stratton officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until the time of service.
