Dorothy M. Alexander, 91, Indianapolis passed away March 2, 2013. She was born July 27, 1921 in Indianapolis to the late Clarence Lisby and Bessie Jones Weeks. Dorothy married Edward Alexander on December 25, 1937 in Greenfield and he preceded her in death on December 11, 1987. She attended Arsenal Technical High School. During her young adult life, she worked at Naval Ordinace and at Schweitzer-Cummings. Mrs. Alexander loved her family, always laughing, and never forgot a birthday. During her younger days, she loved roller skating at Roller Land in downtown Indianapolis. She also followed her race-car owner husband to midget and sprint car race tracks in Ohio, Tennessee and Indiana during the 1940’s and 1950’s. She was a member of Keystone Chapter No. 240 Order of Eastern Star for 50 plus years. Her survivors are daughter Sandra Farno of Indianapolis; sons Ronald (Marsha) Alexander of Indianapolis and Michael (Donna) Alexander of Greenwood; grandchildren Cherie (Brian) Thomas, Rhonda (Jim) Sedinger, Duane Rivers, Raquel (Steve) Mills, Jimmie Suiters Jr., Jill (Mark) Kehoe, Nicole Alexander, Robin (Eric) Eads and Kim (Jim) Milliner; fifteen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren and brother Rev. Bob (Dorothy) Weeks of West Terre Haute. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Lawrence, William, Clarence and Charles Lisby and Jimmy Weeks. Visitation will be 12:00 Noon – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 7 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m., at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
