Larry D. Unversaw, Sr., 76, of Indianapolis passed away on March 9, 2018. He was born on January 13, 1942 in Indianapolis to the late Harry and Rosemary Unversaw. He married Violet Westerfield on May 19, 1961. Larry was employed as a deputy assessor for Marion County, for over 15 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #355 and attended Emmanuel Church of Greenwood. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Larry loved playing softball and volleyball with his family and friends. He was known as "The Legend" on the family sand volleyball court. He most enjoyed being around his family playing cards, games, talking and making everyone laugh.  

Larry is survived by his wife Violet; children Duane (Sally) Unversaw, Sonja (Jack) Farr, Larry (Susan) Unversaw, Jr., Sandy (Ricky) Christie, Vicky (Rick) Unversaw-Smith; brother Tom (Ann) Unversaw; 12 grandchildren Erica Lew, Cassie Lowery, Jennifer Dawe, Jessica Ullery, Eric Farr, Amanda Unversaw, Blake Christie, Audrey Farr, Jamie Unversaw, Austin Christie, Jordan Unversaw, Mitchell Unversaw; and 10 great-grandchildren Avery Lew, Mason Lew, Emma Unversaw, Collin Lew, Trenton Dawe, Hayden Lowery, Jalen Reed, Jackson Dawe, Katelyn Lowery and Chandler Lew.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 13 at the mortuary. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family has suggested memorial gifts be given to I.B.M. Research at Myositis Support and Understanding, 9125 N. Old State Road, Lincoln, DE 19960, understandingmyositis.org.
