Twyla Edrodean (Bailey) Glaubke
101, passed away in Indianapolis on January 15, 2024. She was born July 13, 1922, to the late Roy and Viola (Byers) Bailey of Bloomington, Indiana. She was the oldest of nine children.
Twyla married the late Allen F. Glaubke on April 5, 1942, in Dolan, Indiana. After their wedding, Twyla and Allen moved to Indianapolis, where they resided for over 75 years. She attended Indiana Central College and studied Education. She later went on to serve as an Executive Assistant at David A. Ryker Painting Company for 20 years.
She was an avid baker and gardener, and she enjoyed crocheting and long walks. Winters were spent at her snowbird home in Sarasota, Florida where she enjoyed the bountiful citrus fruits from her backyard. Twyla never met a game she couldn't beat and was the all-time Aggravation Champion in her circle.
She was a longstanding member of the New Life Church, formerly known as University Heights Baptist Church. She served the Lord for many years, teaching Sunday school as well as serving in the Women’s Auxiliary of The Gideons International (Johnson Co. Camp).
Family survivors are sister Angela “Patti” Burge of Hartford, Kentucky. Other survivors include her daughter Peggy (Robert) Daly of Indianapolis, five grandchildren, one step-grandchild, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen F. Glaubke, and daughter, Pamela Self, as well as seven siblings.
Her celebration of life will be on Friday, January 26, 2024, at New Life Church, located at 7010 East Thompson Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46239. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm. Burial will be held in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorial gifts have been suggested to Gideons International. Arrangements by Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center.
