Vicki Hatcher Obituary

Vicki Sue Hatcher (Wood), 79, of Avon, Indiana died at 6:14pm on Friday, January 21, 2022. She was the youngest of three children, born to Alice Lee (Hawley) and Charles Henry Wood Sr. on May 10, 1942 in Peru, Miami County, Indiana. She graduated from Wabash High School in 1960. Early in her career she worked as a telephone switchboard operator in Wabash. She also earned a business degree from Ivy Tech in the early 1980s. She later worked for INDOT and RCI before retirement. She was a proud member of Daughters of the American Revolution. An avid fan of NASCAR, she used to travel to many of the races during race season. 

She will be dearly missed by her surviving friends and family members including; two children: Teri L. Finnegan and Larry Todd Finnegan, three grandchildren; Shannon (Ryan) Smock, Jacob C. Gilland and Jordan Gilland, two great-grandchildren; Dylan and Gabrielle, longtime partner; Tommy L. Gilland, sister and sister-in-law; Sandy Martin and Ellen Hawkins, and her cousin Wally (Dee) Stevenson. She also has several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and both brothers, Charles Henry Wood Jr. and Ralph Edwin Wood.
