Tyla Napier Obituary

Tyla Jo Napier, Indianapolis, passed away on the early morning of Friday, July 24, 2020 at her residence after a long illness. She was 40. Tyla was born December 16, 1979 in Indianapolis, a daughter of Archie Clarkson Fowler and Rose Ann (Holden) Newland.

Tyla was a graduate of Decatur Central High School and had been employed for over 14 years with Subway, where she was the manager of the Marwood Plaza location on Kentucky Avenue. She enjoyed getting her nails and hair done, visiting her mother, watching crime shows on television, cooking and especially loved taking care of her dogs, King, Harley and Gypsy. Tyla deeply loved her family and cherished the time they could spend together. Her family was her life.

Tyla is survived by her mother, Rose (fiance, Charles Adams, II) Newland; her son, Charles (significant other, Emasio White) Adams III; her siblings, Justin Lee Napier and Amber Dawn (significant other, Brittany Patino) Johnson; nieces and nephews, Jaslynn, Nathaniel, Dalilah, Lee, Savannah and Austin;  special cousins, Brandy Holden and Vernon Fowler as well as her best friends, Stephanie Payne, the Leffler’s, Misty Brindley and Polly Fowler.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in passing by her grandparents, Norma and Fred Holden and a nephew, Baby Justin Napier.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm, Monday, August 3, 2020 at the Rock Community Church, 5601 E. 71st Street, Indianapolis with Bishop Leonard Scott officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 pm until the time of service at the Church. Burial will follow at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
