Ruth Hendrix Obituary

Ruth Lorene Hendrix, 95, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2020 at Otterbein SeniorLife in Franklin, Indiana. She was born to Mural and Irene Ranard in Bloomfield, IN on November 28, 1924. She married her husband of 59 years, Robert Edwin Hendrix, in 1947. Together, Bob and Ruth welcomed two children, Janeece and Gary, who made their home complete. In their years together, Bob and Ruth lived in Bloomington, Indiana, Memphis, Tennessee and Indianapolis, Indiana, before moving to the Franklin United Methodist Community in Franklin, Indiana in 1992. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 2007, and her daughter Janeece.

Ruth is survived by her son Gary Hendrix, of Indianapolis, Indiana. She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren: Leigh Livergood and daughter Caitlin; Amanda Chambers; Jennifer Hanks and daughters Allie and Ashlyn; Robert McFerron; and Corey McFerron; niece Teresa Fleener Noble and nephew Jeffery Fleener. She is preceded in passing by her sister Frances Easterday and brother Kenny Mural Ranard.

The family will host a private burial, with a celebration of life service to be held at a later date. Ruth will be buried beside Bob at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Sansum Diabetes Research Institute, 2219 Bath Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93105, www.sansum.org.
