Mr. Richard Lee “Dick” Donald, Jr., Danville, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at his home. He was 76. Dick was born March 18, 1944 in Perrysville, Indiana a son of the late Dorothy Mae (Hueston) and Richard Lee Donald, Sr.
Dick attended Alamo High School and was member of the graduating Class of 1962 and then graduated from Indiana State University in 1966 where he earned a Bachelors degree in Business. He married the former Janet Farley on March 28, 1965. The couple moved to Indianapolis where he was employed as a purchasing agent for Allison Division of General Motors Corporation. Dick proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and went through officer’s training and rose to the rank of Captain.
Dick was always athletic and enjoyed many years of coaching his children’s sports teams. He also enjoyed following his son, Shane’s band. He loved his family and enjoyed spending his leisure time watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and taking them on trips. He was an outdoorsman and loved mushroom hunting and being in nature.
Dick is loved and will be missed by his wife, Janet Y. Donald; his children, Shane Donald, Chad (Ronda) Donald and Karie (Brett) Clark of Danville; his grandchildren, Chance (Penelope) Clark, Jack Clark, Hope Donald, and Claire Donald; his brothers, John (Patty) Donald and Dave (Mary) Donald as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Richard and Dorothy Donald.
There are no services scheduled.
