Oneita Fern (Timmons) May

Oneita Fern May of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 9, 2022 at the age of 98.

She was born on October 14, 1923, in Switz City, Indiana to the late William Fred and Ida M. Timmons.

Oneita lived at Forest Creek Village for the last 14 years. Her family would like to offer special thanks to her nurse, Belva, as well as Bob, and Pauline for caring so sincerely about her well-being while living there. Also, a very special thanks to all who were faithful in sending her cards, and well wishes, as they were greatly appreciated. Oneita has been a member of Calvary Tabernacle for over 60 years and enjoyed her time on the cooking staff for many of those years.

Survivors include her remaining beautiful children, Diana and Larry, David’s wife Lucy, Myron and Maureen, Sheila and Tony, and Roger. She has one surviving sister, Dorothy, as well as 19 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 23 great -great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Myron, her husband of 52 years, her parents, William and Ida Timmons, and a son David, from Lordsburg, New Mexico. 

Funeral Service for Oneita will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Calvary Tabernacle, 902 Fletcher Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46203 with calling from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. A time of fellowship will follow the service. A private entombment will take place following services at Washington Park East Cemetery.

Final Arrangements have been respectfully entrusted to and handled by Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center.
