Mrs. Norma Jean Jennings, of Indianapolis, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, January 21, 2020. She was 68. Norma was born March 14, 1951 in Albany, Kentucky a daughter of the late Earl and Chestaleen (Byers) Phillips.
Norma moved to Indiana with her parents as a teenager and attended Arsenal Technical High School. She had served as the manager of local Waffle House restaurants until health concerns led to her retirement.
Norma enjoyed visiting casinos, talking on the phone, watching television especially Golden Girls, Andy Griffith Show, Matlock and westerns. She loved her family and enjoyed the time she could spend with them.
Norma is survived by her children, Carla Jean Lawson, Carol Jean Carlisle and Norma Sue Lawson; her grandchildren, Chelsea Zweck, Justin Zweck, Carol Centers, Jessica Centers, David Centers, Charles Lawson, Nory Lawson and Layne Lawson; seven great-grandchildren, her sister, Coleen McCabe as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by a great-granddaughter, Angel Centers; her siblings, Danny Phillips, Oleen Phillips and James Phillips and two infant twin sisters.
There are no services planned at this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center.
