Maxine Ivonne Woods

Maxine Ivonne Woods, 93, of Greenwood, passed away July 27, 2022. 

She was born October 24, 1928 in Princeton, Indiana to the late Fred and Maud Miller Heiserman. 

She married Eldon C. Woods on December 10, 1950, and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2015. 

She is survived by her daughters Jo Angela “Jodie” Woods, and Carla (David) Chance; grandchildren, Amber R (Alex Markov) Chance, Emily (Tony) Goben, and Rachel (Mac) White; and four great grandchildren. 

Maxine was a registered nurse having graduated from Deaconess in Evansville after high school.  She worked for Doctor R.E. Weitzel and at the Gibson County General Hospital in Princeton and as a nurse at the Indiana State Office Building and many years for Blue Cross in Indianapolis.  

She was also preceded in death by her bothers Edwin and Frederick Heiserman. 

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Southport Presbyterian Church with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. 

Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. 

The family requests that donations may be made in Maxine’s memory to Macular Degeneration Research or an animal shelter or organization of your choice.
