Obituary
Mary Helen Adams Jr., 65, of Indianapolis passed away in the early afternoon of January 17, 2022, at University Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born November 2, 1956, in Indianapolis to the late Lester Adams and Mary H. (Lawson) Adams Sr. Mary was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School and was a devout member of the St. Peters Missouri Synod Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed the company of her cats. She could often be found experiencing new adventures with her daughter Amanda and trying new foods. When she wasn’t gardening or working on her vehicles, she enjoyed scrolling Facebook and solving jigsaw puzzles. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren doing various crafts, coloring and blowing bubbles.
Mary is survived by her only daughter Amanda (Adams) Poindexter (Christopher “Shawn”); grandchildren Michael and Mariah Poindexter of New Castle, Indiana; siblings Stephanie Baker, George Adams (Gloria) and Joel Adams all of Indianapolis as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her brother James Adams and sister Dietra York.
