Martha Jean (Strong) Knight

Martha Jean Strong Knight, 75, of Indianapolis passed away December 4, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 2, 1945 in Xenia, Ohio to the late June and Lillian Swanner Strong. Martha was married to the late Larry Knight, who passed away December 20, 2018. She was employed as a laborer at the Department of Public Works for the City of Indianapolis for many years, prior to retiring. Martha was a member of Mt. Calvary Evangelistic Center. She also participated in ministry by singing at a local nursing home.

Martha is survived by children Kevin Knight (Cathy Wickersham), Christina Cook (Millard) and Lori White (EB); sister Eloise Hembree; brothers Jim and Fred Strong; grandchildren John Roberts (Riah), Jamie Powell (Michael), Jeremy Roberts, Courtney Weir (Elisha), Emily Dillon (Samuel), Kevin Knight II, (Ciera Norcross), great grandchildren Kyran, Avareigh “Sweet”, Brayden, Levi, Adalyn, Salem, Ella, Aubrie, Lillian, and Dexter, who is on the way; nephew/caretaker Robbie Strong; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in passing by her husband Larry Knight, parents June and Lillian Strong, grandson Joshua Roberts; siblings Ernestine Murphy, Kenneth, Paul, Talman and Jackie Strong.

Services for Martha will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Norman F. Chance Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 East National Avenue, Indianapolis. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt.
