Lonnie Charles Johnson

Lonnie Charles Johnson, 70, Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on January 16, 2021. He was born April 9, 1950 in Columbus, Georgia to the late L.C. Johnson and Minnie Lee Johnson. Lonnie was married to his wife Shirley A. Johnson for 48 years, they were married on June 9,1973.

Lonnie worked as a custodian in the federal building for several years. Lonnie was an excellent bowler, bowling at Raceway Lanes, Woodland Bowling Alley, Expo Bowl, and Hindel Bowling Alley. He loved playing the harmonica and also loved reading, especially the Bible and being a Jehovah Witness.

Lonnie is survived by his wife Shirley; children Lonnie Johnson Jr., Ronnie Johnson, Anthony Gilson Johnson; siblings Sylvia Michell,  William Johnson, Beverly Camilletti, Ernest Johnson, and Ginger Johnson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in passing by his son Clarence Gilson Johnson; parents L.C. Johnson and Minnie Lee Johnson; sisters Linda Johnson and Flora Johnson.

Memorial services for Lonnie will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021.
