Juana Escobar Miranda Obituary

Juana Escobar Miranda, Indianapolis, passed away on the early afternoon of Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital. She was 68. Juana was born November 11, 1952 in San Julian, El Salvador, a daughter of Antonio Miranda and Petrona Escobar.

Juana attended school in El Salvador before coming to the United States. She enjoyed cooking (she made the best horchata and tamales), watching the news, and taking care of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A believer, she was a Christian who loved everyone and in return, everyone loved her. She was devoted to her family and she deeply loved her grandchildren.

Juana is survived by her father, Antonio Miranda; her children, Marina Estela Escobar (Edwin Coto) and Juan Carlos (Glenda) Palacios; her grandchildren, Manuel Rodriguez, Melani Rodriguez, Derick Escobar, Fabiola Palacios and Carlos Palacios; a special niece, Angie Samantha; her siblings, Ricardo Escobar, Teresa Suarez, Lucia vda de Solorzano, German Escobar, Beneranda de Melendez, Inez Garcia, Apolonia Estrada, Tony Escobar and Ana Isabel de Benitez as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, Petrona Escobar, Juana is preceded in passing by her sister, Maria Antonia Escobar.

Private funeral services will be held and burial will follow to West Newton Cemetery.

Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 1202 S. Lynhurst Dr., Indianapolis, is entrusted with the arrangements.
