Mrs. Janet Marie Bless, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on the early morning of Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the Otterbein-Franklin SenoirLife. She was 77. Janet was born May 21, 1942 in Beech Grove, Indiana, the oldest of eleven children born to the late John E. and Juanita E. (Gibbs) Cobb.
Janet was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was active in it’s mission work as well as holding several callings, to include stake genealogist, a missionary, nursery leader and a frequent chaperone of youth conferences within the church.
Janet was a loving wife and mother to her three children, further embracing two foster children and a foreign exchange student into her family. After the children had left the nest, she then worked at a daycare and various other jobs. But her main attention and great pride was being the family genealogist. She deeply loved her family and cherished the time she could spend with them. Being the eldest child, she held a special place as a caregiver to her brothers and sisters. Janet was a proud graduate of Emmerich Manual High School and member of the 50 year club and yearly attended reunions.
Janet is survived by her husband, Orville F. Bless; her children, Christopher M. (Brenda) Moore, Teresa L. (Jim) Rigsbee and Laura L. (Redd) Angeles; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her siblings, Sharon Smith, Wanda (James) Eggertt, Roxanne Gaynor, John (Linda) Cobb II, Robert (Teresa) Cobb, Grant (Angela) Cobb, David (Kathy) Cobb, Tina Dinn, Juanita (Rodney) Johnson and Frances (Dewey) Collins.
