Geraldine Faye Kincade

Mrs. Geraldine Faye ‘Gerry’ Kincade, of Greenwood, passed away on the afternoon of Saturday, October 5, 2019. She was 86. Gerry was born June 19, 1933 in Hodgesville, West Virginia the daughter of the late Rev. Holly Orville and Claris Marie (Gray) Shamblin.

Gerry was a 1951 graduate of Huntington East High School in Huntington, WV and attended Marshall University also in Huntington. She retired as an administrative assistant with the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce. She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Indianapolis where she served in the choir, the Christian Women’s Club, Triple C Sunday School class and the Children’s Ministry.

While her children were in school, Gerry was active in the school PTO and was involved as a band parent. She especially enjoyed travelling with her husband, wintering in Florida and participating with him in Airstream rallies around the country. She dearly loved her family and was extremely involved in the lives of her grandchildren, whom she cherished.

Gerry is survived by her children, Steve (Mindi) Kincade and Lisa (Jim) Workman; her grandchildren, Jessica Workman, Molly (Adam) Beuoy, Jeffrey Workman, Sarah Kincade and Mark Kincade; her great-grandson, Elias Beuoy; her sisters-in-law, Cristina Shamblin, Brenda Shamblin and Phyllis Bowen as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband of 65 years, Robert ‘Roy’ Kincade, Jr. and her three brothers, Darrel Shamblin, Marlin Shamblin and Donald Shamblin.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 pm, Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor David Lee officiating. Burial will follow to Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church..
