Dortha Mamie (Jones) Sanford Holmes

Dortha Mamie Jones Sanford Holmes (98 yrs old) born April 20, 1925 in Russellville, KY went home to be with the Lord, on June 2nd, 2023.  Daughter of Robert Haven Jones and Lora Reneau Jones of Russellville, KY. Married Floyd Sanford in 1942 (Deceased 1964).  Married Andrew Dewey Holmes in 1975 (Deceased 2002).  Preceded in death by two brothers Fred Jones and Grady Jones and six sisters, Elsie Brown, Dellie Barrett, Effie Foster, Thelma Bagby, Kate Carlson and Ruby Wilson. Son, Floyd Jimmie Sanford (Sandy). Three grandchildren, Jacqueline Sanford, Jennifer Sanford and Timothy Sanford.  Survived by one step-son Richard Holmes (Charlene), one step daughter Carol Bruce (David); six grandchildren Diane Crafton (Tim), Robert Sanford (Dio), Christopher Sanford, Alexandria Roemke (Jon). Four step grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. 

Dortha Retired from RCA after 26 years of employment. She kept in touch with many beloved friends.  Dortha worked at Sam's Club in Greenwood for 13 years, retiring in 2010.  She was a member/greeter of Emmanuel Church in Greenwood, IN from 1986 and a member/greeter of Gracepoint in New Whiteland, IN from 2008.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday. June 7, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Gracepoint Church, 330 Whiteland Road, New Whiteland, IN  46184

with Pastor Zachary Scelatto , officiating, and burial to follow at Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
