Dorothy Pauline Byers

Mrs. Dorothy Pauline Byers, of Franklin, passed away on the early afternoon of Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Otterbien-Franklin SeniorLiving. She was 96. Dorothy was born December 17, 1923 in Eckerty, Indiana, a daughter of the late Monroe and Lennie (VanWinkle) Speedy.

Dorothy attended Arsenal Technical High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1943. She was employed for several years as a clerk with American United Life Insurance Company (AUL). Dorothy was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Joan O’Conner, Karen Byers (Alan Ellstrand) and Janet (Michael) Murphy; her grandchildren, John (Roberta) O’Conner, Daniel (Amy) O’Conner, Erin (Jonathan) Duff and Kevin Ellstrand; six great-grandchildren; her sisters, Norma Jean Buford and Wanda Carr as well as several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral services will be conducted with entombment following at Washington Park East Cemetery.

Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 1202 S. Lynhurst Dr., Indianapolis, is entrusted with the arrangements.
