Donald McQueen, Sr. Obituary

 

Mr. Donald Alan “Don” McQueen, of Indianapolis, passed away on the morning of Thursday, April 23, 2020. He was 65. Don was born October 5, 1954 in Indianapolis, a son of the late Robert D. and Patricia L. (Bickers) McQueen.

Don attended Southport High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1972. He had also attended Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana where he earned an Associates degree in sheet metal fabrication. He was employed with C&C Sheet Metal Co. and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local 20. He was also a member of St. Roch Catholic Church.

Don loved the outdoors and in his leisure time enjoyed gardening, sports, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed going with his wife to drive-ins. Don enjoyed life and was a lover of all things.

Don is survived by his wife, Monika L. (Hawkins) McQueen, his children, Donald McQueen, Jr., Steven (Victoria) McQueen, Jason McQueen, Andy (Amber) McQueen, Karen (Mark) Gross, April (Alan) Everly and Robin (Justin) Sloan; 18 grandchildren; his siblings, Carolyn Sharp, Bob (Lynette) McQueen, Nancy (Ron) Butler, Johnny McQueen, Larry (Robin) McQueen and Patsy McQueen; his uncle and aunts, Paul (Trae) McQueen and Betty McQueen as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by his son, Tommy McQueen.

A memorial service will be held at a later date when it is safe for family and friends to gather.

Norman F. Chance Funeral Home, Indianapolis, is entrusted with the arrangements.
