David Warren Francis, 76, of Indianapolis passed away March 13, 2022. David was born March 2,1946, in Indianapolis to the late Robert Windsor Francis and Martha Ruth (Wallace) Francis. On September 28,1974 he was joined in matrimony to Bernetta Francis. She preceded him in passing on May 29, 2003. David was a member of the 1964 graduating class at North Central High School. He had been self-employed in the food service industry. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs as well as other baseball teams, Indiana University Hoosiers and was known to wager on horse races. He enjoyed travel especially the Grand Canyon, Niagra Falls and Washington D.C. He was an avid student of history and enjoyed cooking and gardening.
David is survived by his son Kevin Francis (Kasey); his granddaughter Charlotte; brother in law and sister in law Ron and Jan Patterson as well as several nieces, nephews and beloved cousins.
Funeral Service for David will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2022, at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 1202 South Lynhurst Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46241, with calling from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Entombment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown, Indiana. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a disabled veterans organization.
