Danny "Boone" Ralph Harris

Danny R Harris (Boone) a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at his home.

 

He was born on April 7, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Jesse and Julia (Curl) Harris. Danny and his wife Janet were involved in the Young Marines Organization for many years. Danny was also an avid Horseshoe pitcher and loved the Indianapolis Colts. He was best known for his storytelling abilities and the love he had for his large family. 

 

He is survived by his 4 daughters, Melinda Craft of Greenwood, Indiana, Laura Phillips (Kenny) of Connersville, Tennessee, Toni Harris of Indianapolis, Indiana and Tracy White (Jeff) of Trafalgar, Indiana. 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and four sisters, Joyce Brummett Yoder of Martinsville, Indiana, Julia Gibson (Jimmy) of Cloverdale, Indiana, Beverly Barnes (Danny) of Camby, Indiana and Margaret Henson of Camby Indiana. Also, His Best Friend, Sergeant Major Mac Magna (Julie) of Speedway, Indiana.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Janet (Joseph) Harris, a daughter Jamie Craft and a grandson Steven Weaver. Also, his parents, Jesse and Julia Curl Harris. Brothers Jesse Harris, Richard Harris, Charles Harris, Robert Harris, Dallas Harris and Michael Harris. Sisters, Norma Elliott, Maxine Jones George and Linda Butler.

 

Memorial Service for Danny will be Saturday, September 24,2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 1202 South Lynhurst Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46241.  Online condolences maybe offered to the family at www.singletonmortuary.com
