Carol Smith Obituary

Carol A. Smith, 84, of Franklin passed away on April 17, 2022. She was born on February 22, 1938, in Quaker City, Ohio to the late Lester and Mary Carpenter.  She married James (Jim) Smith on December 2, 1956, in Apple Creek, Ohio. Carol retired from Bee Window in 2005. She was an active member of Center United Methodist Church¸ where she enjoyed her weekly Bible Study until moving to Franklin United Methodist Home in 2016, now known as the Otterbein. Living there, she enjoyed euchre, bingo and dining with her friends. Also, an avid fan of the Golden Girls.

Survivors include her son Mike Smith (Karen) of Indianapolis; daughter Lynn Moore (Brett) of Martinsville; she was a devoted Grandma to her grandchildren, Eric Smith (Yana), Aimee Ferguson (Kyle), Brad Moore (Emily), Brent Moore (Mandy), Brittany Ray (Brandon); sisters, Betty Carpenter, Sandy Manglitz (Mike), brothers, Gene Carpenter (Barbara), deceased, Jim Carpenter (Pam). She was blessed with twelve great-grandchildren.

Services will be 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Center United Methodist Church with calling from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers, can be made to Center United Methodist Church, 5445 Bluff Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46217. Online condolences maybe offered at www.singletonmortuary.com
