Mrs. Betty Joy Morgan, of Indianapolis, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, September 4, 2019. She was 88. Betty was born Christmas Eve, December 24, 1930 in Elwood, Indiana, a daughter of the late Milford and Mable (Webb) Hunter.

Betty attended Markleville High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1949. In the Fall after her graduation, she married the love of her life, Richard L. Morgan on November 19, 1949. Betty was employed for several years in the mail room at RCA where she performed various clerical duties.

Betty was a faithful 68-year member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Indianapolis where she sang in the choir. She lived a pure Christian life which was lived out through her kindness and consideration of others. She enjoyed music and singing and had an effortless, angelic voice. She also played the upright bass and later switched to an electric bass guitar. Betty spent her leisure time playing Yahtze and Bingo as well as caring for her flowers and camping. She was witty and had a wonderful sense of humor. Betty loved her family dearly and cherished the time they spent together.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of nearly 70 years, Richard L. Morgan; her children, David L. (Donna K. Dial) Morgan, Phillip A. (Patricia) Morgan and Karen S.
