Ewell H. Howser, 101, of Indianapolis, passed away on the evening of October 18, 2018. He was born on August 23, 1917 in Macon, County, Tennessee to the late J.B. and Vercie Howser. Ewell married Virginia Creasy on Sept. 7, 1940, in Westmoreland, Tennessee. He was emolyed as a Machine Operator and Group Leader for RCA for many years, before retiring in 1980. He was a long time member and deacon at Southport Baptist Church. Ewell was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening.

Ewell is survived by his son Melvin “Mel” (Sandra) Howser; 3 grandsons and their families; 10 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren and brother Earl Howser. He is preceded in passing by his wife Virginia; 3 great-grandchildren and 2 siblings.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 22 at the mortuary. Private entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to CrossBridge Baptist Church 4309 W. 79th St. Indianapolis, IN 46268.

My Mother-in-law has been a resident at University Heights for 3 months. Ewell always stopped me to say hello and recently gave me a little scarecrow they received from a church that came. I will always cherish my fall decor. Prayers and comfort to you all. Darcie Brown
