James “Jim” H. Jones, 88, of Greenwood passed away September 7, 2018. He was born on January 3, 1930 to the late James and Linda Jones. On October 22, 1977 Jim married Judith Porter in Evansville, Indiana. Jim was employed for Steam Fitters Local #136 in Evansville for many years, before retiring. He was a proud Navy Veteran serving his country on the USS Missouri. Jim was a member of Rocklane Christian Church, American Legion and VFW.  

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his wife Judith; daughters Kelly (Frank) Bradford, Kerry (Aaron) Carmichael and Kayte Jones; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several sisters, brothers, nephews and nieces.                

Visitation will be Monday, September 10, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Rocklane Christian Church 4430 Rocklane Road, Greenwood. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 11 at the church. Interment with military honors will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center is handling the arrangements. The family has suggested that memorial contributions be given to Life’s Journey Hospice House 10241 E. County Road 100 N. Avon, IN. Prayers and thought have been and will be with you all. It is those left behind with the heaviest of hearts, but knowing he must be smiling now, hopefully helps.
