Lillian I. Jenkins, 80, of Indianapolis passed away on August 25, 2018. She was born on May 24, 1938 in Moss, Tennessee to the late Lansford and Mary Lena Murray. Lillian was a member of Shelbyville Road Church of Christ. She married Dencil Leon “Greasy” Jenkins. Lillian was a seamstress and employed  in the environmental services for St. Francis Alverno for many years.

Lillian is survived by her children Rita VanHooser-Breedlove (Allen), Diana Stigall (James), Dale Jenkins (Pamela); sisters Carol Roberts (Joe), Cathy Arnett (David), Sharon Holiday; sisters-in-law Cary Murray and Martha (Marty) Murray; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in passing by her parents; husband of 59 years; and brothers Royce and Douglas Murray.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday September 1, 2018 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 31 at the mortuary. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

May God grant you comfort and strength during your loss and sorrow. Aunt Lillian was a beautiful, loving Christian. I’m very proud she was my Aunt. We love you all.

Dear Rita-

I am truly sorry for your loss. Know that I am thinking of you. Although I never met your mother, I believe that she must have been remarkable, because you are. I would like to make a donation to a charity in her name, if that is possible.
