Richard T. Kavanaugh, 76, of Indianapolis passed away August 4, 2018. He was born July 11, 1942 to the late James and Catherine Kavanaugh. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was employed for Holland Trucking for several years. Richard enjoyed fishing, camping, crossword puzzles, cooking, traveling. He appreciated all card games including euchre, blackjack and poker. Richard loved his dog Snoopy and spending time with his family, especially grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his children Ruth Ann Kavanaugh, Thomas Young, Deborah (Bill) Galbraith, Charles (Missy ConlIn) Wentworth, Kimberly (Robert) Trowbridge, Angela Wentworth, Michele Wentworth, Pamela (Kirk) Clements, Wendy (Mike) Wells, Kenny Patterson; grandchildren Matthew Seyfried, Mark Seyfried, Jesse Seyfried, Jake Seyfried, Tommy James Thornton, Davey Duane Thornton, Cody Jean Thornton, Jacob young, Jennifer Young, Erika Colbert, Jadon Martin,Sadie Batchelor, Samuel Batchelor, Deanna Ervin, Kalie Wentworth, Morgan Wentworth; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he is preceded in passing by his wife of over 40 years Janis “Grace” Kavanaugh; brothers Patrick, Jack, James Kavanaugh and sister Diane Jones.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2018 at Southport Park, 6901 Derbyshire Road. Friends are encouraged to gather from 12:00 p.m. noon until 4:00 p.m. at the park.

Memorial Contributions may be given to Season's Hospice.
