Carl Robert "Robby" Taylor, 51, of Indianapolis passed away March 31, 2018. He was born April 25, 1966 in Nashville, IN to Carl W. Taylor and Nancy M. Taylor Schmidt. He was a member of the Class of 1984 at Whiteland High School. Carl was employed with General Motors Truck and Bus Division for 21 years. He loved cars, working on them and fabricating them, enjoyed watching car shows on television and flea markets. Carl loved his family and spending time with them, he was a great friend.

Carl is survived by his wife Lachelle Taylor; children Bridget (Jon) Dowden, Jesse (Sally) Taylor, Haley Taylor, Nicole Tipton and Kandas Tipton; his mother Nancy Schmidt; his step-mother Janice Taylor; grandchildren Emmah Tipton, Wyatt Taylor, Mason Dowden and Parker Dowden; siblings Annie (Gene) Luidhardt, Christy Schmidt, Nathan (Jessica) Davis and Ryan (Ashley) Davis as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He is preceded in passing by his father Carl; step-father Donald Schmidt; brothers Christopher Taylor and Joseph Taylor and his mother and father-in-law Stella and Raymond Galyan.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 5 at the mortuary. Interment will follow to New Crown Cemetery. For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested they be offered to The American Cancer Society.

I worked with Carl for more than 20 years at GM. He had an amazing mechanical mind and was way smarter than me. A kind heart and a gentle soul. Gone too soon but glad he’s at peace.

Lachelle and Family, so sorry for your loss. Carl was a very nice and friendly young man. Lachelle, I always loved when you would come into the Credit Union to see me after you had lunch with Carl. I will send prayers of strength and comfort to you.
