Thomas “Tom” Mobley, 61, of Richmond passed away March 7, 2018 after courageously battling cancer for almost 3 ½ years. Tom was independent, strong and always hopeful. He was born on November 13, 1956 to Robert and Patricia Mobley. Tom graduated from Southport High School in 1975 as a member of the National Honor Society. After turning down a tennis scholarship to Hanover College, he attended Delgado Community College in New Orleans, on a basketball scholarship and graduated from Indiana University in 1981 with a business degree. Even after attending IU, he was a true Notre Dame football and basketball fan, converting his family to fans as well. He also loved the Cubs. Tom lived in Richmond for the past 30 years. He was employed with Belden Wire and Cable Company as an office manager/controller, and was currently employed at Walmart.

Tom is survived by his father Robert; siblings Barbara Austin, Teri (Steve) Hogan, Andrew Mobley; nieces Stephanie Hogan, Samantha (A.J.) Tom was such a wonderful person. Smart, funny, warm, caring. I will miss seeing him. He was always quick with a smile and a hug! I am glad he is not suffering any longer and I hope he was with his family at the end.
My thoughts are with his family
