Our deepest sympathy to the family in the passing of a wonderful caring person, who was cheerful, full of purpose and such a blessing to the children and Church Family at SCC. Russ was a just a great guy and a servant of the living God!
Our sympathies are especially with Shirley, Lisa and the entire family in this time.

Russ was a pillar of Southport Christian Church. He helped teach my high school Bible study class. I learned so much. After College. he personally invited me to return to Church. His smile was everywhere and there were only two people who offered me condolences after my dad died. Russ was one of them. We shall miss him dearly. May God bring comfort to his entire family. I know he is on a Heavenly vacation and we'll all see him in the future. Lots of love, Rhonda DeLap Tipton

Russell Ward was my first cousin, and I have always felt that he was an amazing, wonderful human being. In my adult life, when I had moved away from Indianapolis, Russ and Shirley Ward welcomed me back to visit and I stayed with them in their home. So generous and loving, they made a wonderful couple. Russ will be much missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
