Susan J. Dearing

Susan J. (Koesters) Dearing, 77, of Greenwood passed away June 29, 2019. She was born October 1, 1941 in Indianapolis to the late Herbert and Mary Polen. Susan was married on July 3, 1992 to Roger Dearing. She was employed as a Unit Secretary at University Heights/Community South Hospital during the hospital construction and for many years afterwards. Susan was also a hairdresser, working at various shops and later having a salon in her basement. She was an active member of Morris Street United Methodist Church.

Susan is survived by her husband Roger Dearing; children Kim (Koesters) Miller (Joe) and Kevin Koesters (Betty); stepchildren Diana Dearing and Denny Dearing (Donna); grandchildren Jason Yazell (Carrie); step grandchildren Darcy Back (Matt), Drew Dearing (Megan), Derek Dearing and Christina Miller, and ten great grandchildren. She is preceded in passing by her beloved mother Mary Myers, father Herbert Poland, children Michael and Michelle Koesters; and brothers Ronald and Herbert Devore.

Services for Susan will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until hour of service at the mortuary. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
