Nona Joan Cochran

Mrs. Nona Joan Cochran, of Indianapolis, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, October 15, 2019. She was 90. Nona Joan was born September 29, 1929 in Indianapolis, a daughter of the late A.C. and Nona ‘Grimes’ Boyd.

Nona Joan attended Thomas Carr Howe High School and was member of the graduating Class of 1947. Shortly thereafter, she married the love of her life, Jack Cochran, on January 26, 1949 and they were married over 61 years until his passing August 26, 2010. She enjoyed crafting and was an avid reader. She took great pleasure in keeping up with family and friends including those friends she made in Dunedin, Florida where she and Jack resided for 10 years. While in Florida, she attended and was active in Unity Community Church. Nona Joan was a friend of Pleasant Run United Church of Christ in Indianapolis.

Nona Joan is survived by her children, Clark (Linda) Cochran, Lynn (Donald) Snider, Kitty Lee (Daniel) Burkhart and Jamie (Tim) Collins; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Jack Cochran; her daughters, Cindy Goebel and Penny Cochran; her infant son, Mark Cochran; a son-in-law, Michael Goebel; her siblings, Norvel Boyd, Eugene Boyd, Jack Boyd, Robert Boyd, Thomas Boyd and Clara Marguerite Bauermeister.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family with inurnment following at Coatesville Cemetery.
