Mrs. Harriett B. Adams, of Indianapolis, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in Indianapolis. She was 96. She was born April 8, 1923 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Frank R. and Mona (Griffith) Boyer.
Harriett graduated from McCaskey County High School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and then earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science from Ohio Wesleyan University. She was a librarian at the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library for 23 years before retiring in 1988. She had attended the Southport United Methodist Church and was currently a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed singing in the choir at church and also enjoyed sewing as well as being an avid reader.
Harriett is survived by her sons, James (Donna) Adams and Charles Adams; her grandchildren, Melissa (Mike) Every and Lindsey Adams and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Robert J. Adams; a son Doug Adams and a brother, Robert Boyer.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center with calling from 1:00 pm until the hour service. Pastor Doug Shinkle will be officiating. Burial will follow to Greenwood Cemetery.
