Debra Phegley Obituary

Debbie was born November 10, 1957 in Beech Grove, IN to the late Bob and Mary Anne Rhyne. She was the middle child of two siblings, Donna Bilbrey and David Rhyne.  Her husband, Kevin Phegley preceded her in death.

Debbie ran the family business, R.E. Rhyne Upholstery for 20+ years. Her father fondly referred to her as the “boss” and his “right hand man.”

She was a life long IU basketball fan, and never missed an opportunity to proudly (and loudly) cheer her grandkids on at their sporting events. She called herself Uber-Gramma, as she was always supportive, and happy to run her grandkids and their friends around town. She was famous for her baking, and generously made delicious cupcakes and cookies for all her family's special occasions.

Debbie was a loving and caring person, a fiercely devoted mother and doting grandmother.  She is survived by her two loving children; son, Michael (Julie) Phegley, daughter, Michelle (Paul) Moriarty, and her sweetheart of 13 years, Bruce Barnett. Debbie leaves us to cherish her loving memory through her pride and joys; her Grandchildren, Elijah Michael Moriarty, Dylan Thomas Moriarty, Kaylin Marie Moriarty, Isaac William Phegley. She was Gramma Debbie to so many of her children's friends, grandchildren's friends, nieces, nephews and host of loved ones. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Debbie touched are invited to Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center at 7602 Madison Ave, Indianapolis, IN on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 11 am -1 pm with service immediately following and procession to Forest Lawn Gardens in Greenwood, IN.
