David Rivera

Mr. David Rivera, Indianapolis, passed away on the afternoon of Sunday, January 5, 2020. He was 87. David was born July 23, 1932 in El Salvador, a son of the late Martir Rivera and Agustina Pineda.

David attended school in El Salvador and came to the United States just a short time ago. While in El Salvador, he was a veterinarian and took great pride in caring for the animals of the neighboring farms. He enjoyed fishing and as a youth, loved playing soccer. He also spent his leisure time singing and playing his guitar. David was a member of Iglesia Ebenezer (Ebenezer Church). He was a wonderful father and husband and will be deeply missed.

David is survived by his wife Maria (Rodriguez) Rivera; his children, Daysee Rivera, Ruth Rivera, Elmer Rivera, Dolly Rivera, Ledeni Rivera, Marvin Rivera, Maira Rivera and Jerson Rivera; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mercedes Rivera and Etlvina Rivera and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by two sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Ebenezer Church (Iglesia Ebenezer), 1460 S. Belmont, Indianapolis with burial following at West Newton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, Friday, January 10, 2020 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 1202 S. Lynhurst Dr., Indianapolis as well as from 11:00 am until the of service Saturday at the church.
