Mrs. Carole Jean Schott, of Indianapolis, passed away on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 7, 2019. She was 78. She was born March 25, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky, a daughter of the late William R. and Margaret Lucille (Riester) Talbott.
Carole attended Sacred Heart High School and graduated with the Class of 1959. She worked for the Indianapolis Opera and Starlight musicals as controller and bookkeeper for 15 years. She enjoyed reading, playing cards…especially Texas Hold ‘Em, walking and she cherished every moment she could spend with her family and grandchildren. She attended Mount Pleasant Community Church in Greenwood.
Carole is survived by her children, Brian (wife: Diane) Schott, Kevin (wife: Jean) Schott and Timothy (companion: Betsy Waninski) Schott; nine grandchildren; three great-granchildren; her daughter-in-law, Angie Schott; her siblings, Virginia Holzer, Thomas (wife: Lily) Talbott, Kathy Mattocks, Donna Fugii and John (wife: Mindy) Talbott as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband of 52 years, Joseph Anthony Schott, her son, Tony Schott; a brother, William Talbott and brothers-in-law, Edmond Holzer, Terry Mattocks and Ken Fugii.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 pm, Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center will Pastor Jake Medlong officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until time of the service at the mortuary. Private burial will follow to Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
