Carol Sue McManama, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at her residence. She was 71. She was born August 9, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a daughter of the late Charles K. and Arlene A. (Spence) McManama.
Carol graduated from North Central High School in 1965 and then graduated Magna Cum Laude from Butler University in 1969 and earned her Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois. Carol worked for over 30 years as Chief Financial Officer for the Carmel City Water Utility. She was a member of the Eagle Creek Community Church.
Carol’s life centered around her church where she volunteered and participated in various activities. She enjoyed traveling, reading, listening to NPR and taking care of feral cats. She deeply loved her family and enjoyed every moment she could spend with them.
Carol is survived by her sisters, Patti Hacker and Judy McManama; her nieces NP Shannon (Dr. Joseph) Lee and Kelli (Donny) Canup; her great-nieces and nephews, Kaden, Caleb, Kelsey Lee, Eliza Canup and one on the way.
She was preceded in passing by her parents.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 pm, Friday, April 19, 2019 at the Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Services will be conducted at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the mortuary. Burial will follow to Crown Hill Cemetery.
For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested they be offered to The Wounded Warrior Project or the Central Indiana Youth for Christ.
