Billy Louis Osborne, 71, passed away with family by his side Monday, January 21st from a brain tumor. He is remembered for his love of family, friends, old cars, tractors, antiques, Florida in the winter, boating, and enjoying life to the fullest. His dimples and infectious smile, light-hearted attitude, and boyish charisma is what led Billy to have so many wonderful memories to share. Billy was a proud Vietnam Veteran having served in the Navy aboard the USS Intrepid as a jet engine mechanic and helicopter land rescue. As an English teacher for 31 years at Beech Grove High School and a professor at IUPUI, he has touched many lives.
Billy is survived by his wife Ann (Fox) (50 years February 15th), children Barry (Megan), Ryan (Mandy), Wendy and Leslie, grandchildren Madelyn (8), Caroline (4), with Barry and Megan, Olivia (24), Audrey (11), Sadie (9) with Ryan and Mandy, and Logan (2) with Leslie, and siblings Wayne (Nancy), and Joyce (Rick) Thompson, along with many other uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
To celebrate his life, visitation will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Singleton Mortuary and Memorial Center, 7602 Madison Ave, Indianapolis with visitation from 2-6 pm. Funeral Services Sunday, January 27, 2019 at 2:30 pm. Burial Ceremony will be at noon Friday, February 1, 2019 at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Rd, Madison, IN 47250.
