Mrs. Betty Louise Embery, of Camby. passed away on the early morning of Thursday, July 25, 2019 in Mooresville. She was 84. Betty was born July 22, 1935 in Vernon, Kentucky, one of nine children born to Sol S. and Nora (Spears) Blakley.
Betty was reared in Kentucky and attended school there before coming to Indiana. Betty was married to her beloved husband, Lonnie Embery on July 15, 1953 and they spent nearly 57 years together until his passing in 2010. She was a homemaker and was dedicated to her family seeing to it that their needs were met, daily demonstrating a heart of servitude and love. Her family was her everything.
She enjoyed spending her leisure time gardening, raising flowers as well as green onions and tomatoes. She was a good cook and she also enjoyed working in her yard and socializing. Betty attended Faith Community Church in Indianapolis.
Betty is survived by her children and their spouses, Lonnie and Michele Embery and Teresa and Bill Bucker; her grandchildren, Amy (Josh) Willits, David Bucker and Jennifer Michael; her great-grandchildren, Jakub Willits, Logan Willits, Eli Michael and Finnley Michael; her brother, Carlos (Garnet) Blakley as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, her husband; her son Tim Embery and five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at the Singleton Mortuary and Memorial Center. Burial will follow to Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 pm, Monday, July 29, 2019 at the mortuary.
