Albert F. Crumley, MD, 96, of Greenwood, passed away on May 4, 2019. He was born on March 8, 1923, in Topeka, Kansas to the late Frank M. and Grace Ann Mulligan Crumley. Al was a WW II veteran, serving in the Army and later in the Navy. Always interested in medicine, he graduated for medical school and became the Administrator for San Diego County Hospital, a position he held for 15 years. Al was honored by San Diego County for initiating the building of a new hospital. He was then employed as a Physician Liaison at Eli Lilly and Company for 20 years. After retiring, Al served at Tenwek Hospital in Kenya for 5 mission trips. He was a member of Southland Community Church and an avid photographer, photographing Missions in over 20 countries.
Al is survived by his wife Valetta Irene Crumley; children Linda Lou Kennedy, Becky Caruthers (Dr. Jim) and Crosby MacKenzie; daughter-in-law Peggy Crumley; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is preceded in passing by his parents, son Ron Crumley, son-in-law Rev. David Kennedy, and sisters Naomi Hyatt and Ruth Bisel.
A Celebration of Life Service for Al will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, at Southland Community Church, 5800 West Smith Valley Road, Greenwood. Visitation will be Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the Church. The family has suggested memorial gifts be given to One Mission Society or World Gospel Society. Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center is handling the arrangements.
