Bess C. Hamilton Kellar, 72, of Indianapolis passed away on August 24, 2017. She was born on June 13, 1945 in Indianapolis to the late Norval and Bess Hamilton. On August 24, 1963 she married James G. Kellar in Knightstown, Indiana. She retired in 2003 after working for Morgan County, Coordinating Aging Service for eight years. Previously, she was a bookkeeper at Animal Control for the city of Indianapolis for over twenty years. Bess was known as “Granny” to everyone.

Bess is survived by her husband James; children Barbara Howard, Dawn Kellar, Linda Kellar (Karen); brothers Thomas Hamilton (Judy), Tim Hamilton (Amy); and grandchildren James Howard, Devin Muthe-Kellar, Anthony Rains-Kellar, Alex Hamilton, Kristi Mayberry, Candy Harris, Jessica Matula, Megan Eaton and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in passing by her parents and sister Lillian Hamilton.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the family home 2231 E. Epler Ave. Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the home.
