Carole Renner Durrett, 80, of Indianapolis, passed away July 4, 2017. She was born on February 25, 1937 to the late Urban and Ethel Renner. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. Carole was married to Rex Durrett on May 10, 1958, in Indianapolis. She was co-owner of Home Basics for 21 years, retiring in 2008. Prior she was in sales at Indy RV for 5 years. Carole attended St. Barnabas Catholic Church.

Carole is survived by her husband Rex Durrett; children Michael Durrett, Jeffrey Durrett (Beth) and Diane Delk (Tom); grandson Luke Durrett;  and sister Nancy Johnson. She is preceded in passing by her parents and sister Barbara Lucas.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 7602 Madison Ave. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am until the hour of service at the mortuary.  The family has suggested that memorial gifts be given to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Online condolences may be extended to the family by visiting www.singletonmortuary.com

Please accept my sincere sympathy for your loss. Carole was one of the sweetest persons I have ever known, I was blessed each time I spent time with her.
Rex, I pray that soon your tears will give way to the memories of all the joy and laughter you shared over so many years. You were indeed blessed and I know she will never be far from you.

Rex, we know this is a very sad time for you. You have wonderful memories of your dear and precious wife and those memories are what you should think of when sadness tries to overwhelm you.
