Mike and Starla,

I am so sorry to hear that your father has passed. It is never easy to say goodbye to someone as special as your parents, but I find solace in knowing that they are always with me and that we will be together once again.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I worked in the same department with Jesse at Lilly, though not directly for him. I always found him to be of good humor and professional in his dealings with the younger chemists like me that were just starting our career at the time in his life that he was near retirement.

I regret that I didn't get to learn more from him before he retired, but happy to see that he was able to enjoy about 25 years of life after Lilly.

To Jesse's family: you are in my thoughts and prayers. I am saddened to hear that Jesse died. I only today learned that fact. Jesse and I worked together for several years at Eli Lilly and Company, and I very much enjoyed that time with him.
