80, Indianapolis, passed away May 19, 2010. He was born April 23, 1930 in Beech Grove to the late Platte and Mildred Frantz Rivers. Ned married Norma J. Rivers on March 1, 1956 in Indianapolis and she preceded him in death on May 11, 2010. He was an Army Veteran and a member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood and Beech Grove Lodge No. 694 F. & A.M. He was employed 42 years at Eli Lilly and Company retiring in 1989. His survivors are daughters Debra (Jeffrey) Ulrey of Mooresville, Sue Rivers of Richardson, TX and Kathleen Rivers of Zionsville; grandchildren Jennifer, Joseph and Allison Ulrey; sister Sara (Glen) Clayton of Indianapolis and brother John Rivers of Franklin. He was also preceded in death by step brother Robert Gulledge. Services will be at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, May 23 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center with visitation 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial gifts have been suggested to American Lung Association.
