Roberta M. Bannister, 86, Indianapolis passed away February 24, 2013. She was born February 21, 1927 in Greenup Co., KY to the late Andrew and Roberta Huffman Friend. Roberta married John A. Bannister on January 9, 1954 in Indianapolis and he survives. She was employed 34 years at Dr. E.K. Stuckey as a Medical Assistant. Her memberships were Southport Baptist Church (former Deaconess, Church Clerk and Trustee); Past President Masquers of Civic Theater; former member Indianapolis Public School PTA; former member Medical Assistants Association; former member South Symphony Group Board of Directors; early organizer of Indianapolis Opera Guild and active member Beta Sigma Phi Sorority (38) years. She is also survived by daughters Sara Olds and Lois Frank; son-in-law Richard Williams; daughter-in-law Susan Olds; grandchildren Robin (Renato) Colantonio, Kelly (Greg) Loutner, Ryan (Corri) Wright, Travis (Jenna) Williams and Leah Williams; step grandchild Noel (Steve) Zaffarano; great grandchildren Kyle, Eric and David Colantonio, Grant and Nathaniel Loutner; step great grandchildren Angelique, Emily and Isabella Zaffarano; many nieces and nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by son Robert Olds, daughter Laurrie Williams; four brothers and six sisters. Services will be 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 27 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center with visitation 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
