Clyde Kern, Jr.
85, Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2012. He was born April 18, 1927 in Indianapolis to the late Clyde and Elsie Houghland Kern, Sr.
Survivors include his loving wife, Delores Bruner Kern, whom he married on December 19, 1948 in Indianapolis; daughter, Joan Marie (Robert) Kern Wertz, Douglasville, GA; sons, Howard J. (Mary) Kern, Indianapolis and Koby L. (Susan) Kern, Indianapolis; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Martha Mae Faucett.
Clyde served six years in the Marine Corps during WWII. He was employed at Naval Avionics Ordinance Facility, retiring at age 55, as a Traffic Manager. Clyde was a very active member of University Heights Christian Church, as well as his neighborhood community.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8 in Sin gleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center , with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7 in the mortuary. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Memorial gifts have been suggested to University Heights Christian Church.
