Norma J. Hammond, 88, Indianapolis, passed away July 24, 2012.  She was born July 26, 1923 in Princeton, IN to the late Otis and Gladys Weisgerber Clark.  Norma married Charles Hammond on July 26, 1941 and he preceded her in death on November 27, 2002.  She was employed 25 years at The Wm. H. Block (Southern Plaza) retiring as a department manager.  Her survivors are daughter Jackie (Gary) Leathers of Indianapolis; sons Jim (Nanette) Hammond of Greenwood and Jeff (Debbie) Hammond of Shelbyville; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by sisters Maxine Riley, Ann Clark and brother Arthur Paul Clark.  Service will be 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 27 at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center with visitation 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.  Committal will be 10:00 a.m. CDST, Saturday, July 28 at Columbia White House Church Cemetery, Princeton, IN.  Memorial gifts have been suggested to the National Kidney Foundation of Indiana.

Jackie and Family,

So sorry for your loss......I remember your Mother always at your house on Whirlaway, what a nice friendly lady, with a great big smile. Hope life is treating you well. Remembering you in our prayers.

Dear Jackie and Gary,

We know this is a great loss for both of you and we grieve with you. Norma was a classy lady and a tender mother until the very end. She will be missed.
We pray God will be a very present help in your time of trouble in these days ahead.
